2022 VOLVO XC60 VS AUDI Q5

The crossover SUV is quickly becoming a leading segment in the automobile industry, and as evidence, the XC60 has been the best-selling Volvo since 2009. If you were to take a road trip, then you would certainly notice a myriad of crossovers on the highway. Many high-quality vehicles fall under this category. The 2022 Volvo XC60 and the Audi Q5 are standout vehicles. These crossovers host an abundance of impressive features. Here is a quick comparison of Volvo and Audi's outstanding crossover vehicles.

Exterior

The 2022 Volvo XC60 is one of the most well-crafted automobiles on the market today. This vehicle has an athletic stance and is well-balanced. The iconic Volvo grille is eye-catching, and the beautifully sculpted LED headlamps look stunning in their horizontal design. There are also front-facing LEDs that provide optimum lighting while cornering. Since this vehicle comes in multiple trims, the cars will come equipped with various alloy wheel styles that start at 18 inches. Its panoramic moonroof solidifies the XC60's overall appearance. In addition to those features, this vehicle displays illuminating door handles and aggressive dual tailpipes.

The Audi Q5 makes every line count as the vehicle's lines flow evenly from front to back. The Q5 also has impressive curves, especially in the S-line design trim. The LED front lighting is gorgeous, and the SingleFrame grille prominently displays the Audi logo. The shorter body provides the Q5 with a distinct look, but the high-wheel arches look a bit awkward from certain angles. The rear of the Q5 perfectly matches the front, which completes the exterior appearance.

Performance

The 2022 Volvo XC60 is perfectly tuned to meet the demands of today's roadways. Many of today's modern vehicles have downsized on actual engine sizes by incorporating forced induction for higher performance. The 2022 XC60 offers three powertrain options: The B5 engine, available as a Momentum, R-Design, or Inscription, delivers 247 HP and 258 lb.-ft. of torque. It features Auto Start/Stop and ECO+ functionality, available as either front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive. The B6 AWD, available as an R-Design or Inscription, delivers 295 HP and 310 lb.-ft. of torque. Also a mild hybrid (MHEV), it adds a new electric supercharger (e-charger). This enhancement provides noise and refinement improvements because the belt and systems operating the mechanical supercharger have been removed. The T8 Plug-in Hybrid, available in R-Design, Inscription, Recharge Inscription Expression, and Polestar Engineered trim levels, combines an electric motor with a powerful combustion engine for optimum fuel economy, lower CO2 emissions, and exhilarating performance. Together, the combustion engine and electric power motor produce a combined 400 HP and 472 lb.-ft. of torque.

The 2022 Audi Q5 provides a dynamic driving experience that can't be duplicated by many of its competitors. This vehicle is engineered with the legendary Quattro technology, and the 2.0-liter TFSI engine produces up to 362 horsepower (55 TFSI® e). The Q5's 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission gives drivers a smooth shifting experience. In addition to that, the Q5 provides up to 369 pound-feet of torque, and acceleration from 0-60 mph in 5.0 seconds.

Interior & Technology

The Volvo XC60 is at the pinnacle of its class thanks to its use of advanced technologies. This vehicle has a clean layout with fewer distractions. Its nine-inch center display looks sophisticated thanks to its sleek, vertical design. Most of the XC60's apps can be found here. This cabin features a beautiful and clean Scandinavian design thanks to its Swedish-luxury finishes. There are uniquely styled air vents, wood treatments, and metal-finished controls. Advanced-technological features included are climate control, built-in navigation, and an intuitive driver display.

The Audi Q5's 12.3-inch cluster display jumps out at you with its vivid lighting. The Audio Virtual cockpit will allow for good voice control. For music, the vehicle hosts a Bang & Olufsen sound system that produces up to 755 watts of power. The Q5's interior could use a bit more room, but passengers will thoroughly enjoy Android Auto integration, Apple CarPlay technology, and Audi Connect Wi-Fi. Both vehicles are evenly matched, but the 2021 Volvo XC60 edges out the Audi on some levels, including comfort, styling, and safety technology.
